Jenn McConnell is the Restaurant Manager at The Independent, an elevated, coastal restaurant located within The George Hotel. Born and raised in Georgetown, SC, McConnell has dedicated her career to creating exceptional dining experiences and making connections with guests and staff alike. 

Her journey in the food and beverage industry began at just 14 years old as a host, and what started as a fun, fast-paced job, quickly evolved into a passion. After studying at the College of Charleston, McConnell found her calling in hospitality when she realized her love of leadership and inspiring those around her. Her professional experience spans several notable establishments prior to joining The Independent team as a server, which allowed her to refine her skills in service, team mentorship, and operations.   

Since stepping into her role as General Manager, McConnell has committed to fostering a supportive, growth-oriented environment for her team while ensuring every guest leaves with a smile. Her dedication to building community—both among her colleagues and with her guests—defines her leadership style. Inspired by trailblazing women in the restaurant world, McConnell aspires to leave her mark on the industry by leading with compassion, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.
